Trycia M. Benzie, 40, killed when car driven by Katerina S. Jahn, 21, strikes her while walking on Highway 2 east of Airway Heights, Washington

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 21-year-old Katerina S. Jahn was westbound in a white 2004 Ford Focus on Highway 2 when she struck a pedestrian walking in the westbound lane at milepost 281.5 near Russell Road. The pedestrian, identified as 40-year-old Trycia M. Benzie, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified, and no charges have been filed. The accident happend just before midnight on Thursday. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors.
