Liberty Lake Police officer Clint Gibson dies after his SUV crashes into some trees on Francis Avenue in Liberty Lake

Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives were investigating the death of a Liberty Lake Police Department member early Friday. According to authorities, the officer's SUV crashed into a couple trees along Francis Ave. before coming to rest in a parking lot. Officers blocked off the area around W. Francis Ave. and N. Madison St. following the crash. Investigators said the officer was found dead inside the vehicle when police arrived at the scene. Spokane Police were determining whether the death was the result of the collision or if something else was involved.
