George man hurt in crash near Quincy
All occupants were wearing seat belts; intoxicants were not suspected, troopers said.
Eustacio M. Gamez, 74, of George, was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident just outside of Quincy, Washington. The accident occured on Monday, October 20 when Gamez was driving north on Road 10 NW in his GMC pickup and failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle, a Mercury Mountaineer, on State Route 28, when the Mountaineer collided with the pickup. Gamez's passenger, 52-year-old Leonor Hernandez Contreras, of Quincy, was taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center. Those inside the Mountaineer, 19-year-old driver Bryanna Eikenberry, and passenger 26-year-old Ivan E. Munoz, both residents of Wenatchee, avoided injury. All people involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Gamez will receive a citation for negligent driving and driving without a valid driver's license and insurance.
