Hit and run along Park Road killed 47-year-old man

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man killed in a hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning. Authorities said 47-year-old Robert Royer died of blunt impact to the head.

The friend who saw the incident did not wish to speak to the media, but Lind said he told family members that the car was speeding and hit Robert from behind without stopping.

Detectives continue investigation into fatal hit and run

Detectives have located a person of interest and and possible suspect vehicle, they are also processing evidence that includes video from a nearby home.

Driver could face hit and run charge for fatal collision

Traffic Unit investigators with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office are recommending the charge against Tammy Hodge, 43, who contacted detectives hours after the fatal crash.

According to investigators, Royer was riding his bike up Park Road near Interstate 90 when a vehicle struck him and left the scene. Hodge contacted the police hours after the fatal collision occured, and could possibly be facing hit-and-run charges in the near future.
