Vang was wearing a helmet and Oniell was using a seat belt, the State Patrol reported.
A Yakima man was injured Friday afternoon after his car struck a motorcycle on State Route 410. Michael W. Oniell, 52, was taken to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center, where his condition was still being evaluated Friday evening. Oniell was driving east on the highway about 16 miles west of Naches around 2:55 p.m., when his 2006 Toyota Corolla hit a 2002 Yamaha YZFR motorcycle. The motorcycle had crossed over from the westbound lane after its rider, Thai Vang, 53, lost control and was ejected from the bike.
