Student hurt in CWU van accident near Selah

A Washington State Patrol trooper on the scene said the student driver, identified as sophomore Javier Scott, had taken the Selah exit from Interstate 82 rather than continuing on the freeway back to Ellensburg. Trooper Mike Cortez said Scott turned around and was attempting to enter the freeway at Rest Haven when the van slid into the guardrail.

One injured in CWU van accident

One person was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after a Central Washington University van carrying six other occupants drove off the road at the Rest Haven Road overpass Sunday night, Oct. 28, 2012 in Yakima, Wash. Washington State Patrol trooper Mike Cortez said the driver got lost returning to Ellensburg and missed the freeway overpass turn, striking the guardrail. The group had visited a haunted house in Yakima earlier in the day.
