Two-car collision briefly closes part of Yakima Avenue

All people involved were wearing proper restraints, preventing major injuries, Patlan said.

A two-car crash that took place about 5:40 Saturday afternoon caused only one minor injury. One woman, the 22-year-old driver of a Toyota Camry, was transported to the hospital by another vehicle to check on a sore wrist. The woman was headed southbound on Sixth Avenue when she struck the side of a Subaru Outback that ran a red light while traveling east on Yakima Avenue. The Outback, driven by a 27-year-old woman with a baby as a passenger, tipped and slid on its side, blocking the road.
