A 33-year-old woman was injured in a rollover crash on Highway 12 early Sunday morning, but crews were not notified of the crash until five hours after it happened, according to a release.

Sauk County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a rollover crash on Highway 12 just north of Highway A in the town of Delton Sunday around 6:50 a.m., officials said.

A 1996 Honda Civic was in the ditch on the west side of the road when they arrived, officials said. The vehicle had rolled over numerous times, and crews found Kari M. Grassl, 33, of Wisconsin Dells, who had been ejected from the vehicle.

The Honda was southbound on Highway 12 when Grassl lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go into the ditch and roll over numerous times, investigators said.

Officials believe the crash happened around 1:30 a.m., but crews were not notified until the call came in about five hours later.

Grassl was flown to UW Hospital via Med Flight for treatment of her injuries, according to the release.

Officials do not yet know if alcohol was a factor in the crash, but Grassl faces charges for operating with a suspended license.
