A 38-year-old Stoughton man was seriously injured Monday night when his snowmobile crashed into a pine tree.
A 38-year-old Stoughton man was seriously injured Monday night when his snowmobile crashed into a pine tree. Joshua P. Smith was snowmobiling about 10 p.m. on private property in the Town of Dunkirk when he tried to cut between some pine trees, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office. He hit one of trees, was thrown from the snowmobile and flew head-first into another tree. Smith was taken to the University of Wisconsin Hospital. He was wearing a helmet and is expected to recover.
