Konsella was issued traffic citations for passing a vehicle indicating a left-hand turn and failure to wear a seat belt.

At about 11:20am on Highway 14, a farm tractor driven by Eric Rebout, 24, slowed and signaled to make a left-turn into a driveway. A semi-truck driven by Richard Konsella, 74, attempted to pass Rebout, but struck the drivers side of the tractor, which caused the semi to roll onto it's driver's side. After Konsella was extricated from the vehicle, he was taken to Mercy Hospital, treated, and released.
