Speed could be factor in crash that killed Wis. State Patrol Trooper
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol held a news conference Tuesday afternoon. They said Trooper Anthony Borostowski was parked in the median on I-90 near mile marker 89 by Lake Delton when he pulled out heading eastbound. He lost control of his vehicle about a mile down the road. His car went into a ditch and hit a tree. No other cars were involved in the crash.
Officials said they are still trying to figure out if he was in pursuit of another vehicle. Witnesses told officials that the squad car didn’t have lights or a siren on before the crash happened.

Borostowski was also a member of the Wisconsin National Guard, serving in three deployments as a combat medic and trauma specialist in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. Reaching the rank of Staff Sgt. in the Guard, Borostowski was also training to become a Drill Sergeant.

Witnesses said he did not have his lights or sirens activated. The squad was not equipped with a dash camera.
