The chair of the town of Leeds said the town wants something to be done about the intersection, but because the highway is owned by the state it falls in the state's hands.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home (www.pmmfh.com) in Poynette, with the the Rev. Jerry Grimshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

It was about 5:45am on Highway 51 when a northbound Ford Fusion, the driver of which has not yet been identified, lost control on ice that had accumulated from recent freezing rain. The car ended up swerving into oncoming traffic and before colliding with a pickup truck driven by Foley, and it's driver, Brandon R. Contildes, 29, was killed while Foley sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. We will update this accident as more information is released.
