2 injured in downtown OWI crash, police say

A 25-year-old Madison woman and her passenger were injured early Friday when a suspected drunken driver crashed into her car in downtown Madison, according to a release from Madison police. Police said Aldert A. Ramirez-Ruiz, 30, of Madison, ran a red light on North Broom Street and crashed into a car on West Washington Avenue. The driver and her passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Ramirez-Ruiz was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated causing injury, second-offense operating while intoxicated and failure to stop for a red signal.
