UPDATE: Motorcycle driver identified in deadly crash
The deadly accident happened in the 1200 block of Highway 69 shortly before 9:30 pm. Killed in the crash was 41-year-old Kevin Nelson.
Dane County authorities say a 41-year-old Monroe man was traveling south on Highway 69 near Henry Road at a high rate of speed on his 2008 Kawasaki ZX600P motorcycle when he lost control of the motorcycle and crossed the center line, striking a car head on. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver, a 36-year-old female from Mazomanie, was transported to UW Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
