The district’s Crisis Response Team made staff members available at McFarland High school’s cafeteria Saturday. A few students were in the cafeteria at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rugland's memorial service will be held at a gym in McFarland High School at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The high school will dismiss early on Wednesday to allow students to attend.

One of those injured, McFarland High School senior Emily Inabnet, was recovering at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. As of late Sunday morning, she remained in the intensive care unit at the hospital.

She was born on Feb.13, 1997, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Kris Rugland and Kristine Hosford. Cora was a senior at McFarland High School. She had a bright future ahead of her and was taken from us far too early.

McFarland High School senior Cora Rugland, 17, died in a car crash at the intersection of Pond Road and Higway 26 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin Friday night. Another high school senior, Emily Inabet, was injured and taken to Mercy Hospital in Janesville. The two other students riding in the car were not hurt. The accident occured around 10:30 p.m. on October 24 when the vehicle went off the road and collided with a tree. There will be a memorial service for Rugland at McFarland High School at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
