A head-on crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 120 in Lyons killed a Lake Geneva man and injured two others, according to a statement from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
A head-on crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 120 in Lyons killed a Lake Geneva man and injured two others, according to a statement from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office. At around 4 p.m. Jeffrey Peiffer, 52, of Lake Geneva, was driving south on Highway 120 north of Prairie Road when he crossed the center line and struck a car driven by Wolfgang Schubert, 69, of Wauconda, Ill., with one passenger, Rosalina Deinlein, 40, of Morton Grove, Ill. The crash shut down the highway for hours. Peiffer, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Schubert was flown to a hospital with critical injuries, the release said. Deinlein was taken to the hospital by ambulance with injuries that weren't specified. The crash remains under investigation.
