Deputy injured in two car crash on I-94.
Milwaukee County deputy hurt when squad rear-ended on I-94.
A Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputy responding to a crash on I-94 was injured when a driver behind him lost control around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff's department.
The deputy, with 16 years on the force, was treated at a hospital for back and neck pain, according to a news release, which does not name the deputy or the hospital.
The sheriff's department news release says the deputy was responding to a crash on I-94 eastbound near 92nd St. when a PT Cruiser in the far left lane started to spin out of control. The deputy slowed and activated his emergency lights to warn oncoming traffic. When he did so, his squad car was struck from behind by a 2003 GMC Yukon.
Neither the driver of the Yukon nor his two passengers were injured. The Milwaukee Police Department investigated the crash and ticketed the driver for following too closely.
