Multiple crashes on I-43 In Wisconsin close northbound lanes.
Crashes tie up traffic on I-43 in New Berlin.
A series of crashes on I-43 in Waukesha County forced the closure of the northbound lanes for part of Sunday morning as the turn toward colder weather makes for slippery roads in southeast Wisconsin.
The crashes around 8:40 a.m. Sunday closed the highway northbound at Moorland Road in New Berlin, the state Department of Transportation said, and the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
The DOT said just after 10 a.m. that the northbound lanes had reopened.
The DOT reported a crash on I-43 had closed a southbound lane near Sunny Slope Road. That crash happened around 9:10 a.m. and was cleared within a half hour. The DOT reported that another crash just before 10 a.m. was blocking a southbound lane in the same area but was cleared by about 10:30 a.m.
