WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Police say a woman was struck and killed at an intersection in Waukesha. The driver who struck the woman remained at the scene. The woman was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The 23-year-old woman was hit at Highway 164 and Sunset Dr. about 6 p.m. Investigators continue their work.

The tragic scene was accompanied by a heartwarming one. Several bystanders had stopped -- and were administering CPR to the victim. "The community really came together to help that person on their final day," said Joseph Hoffman, Battalion Chief for Waukesha Fire Department.
