The ATV, being driven by Angela Russell, 33, of Chouteau, went off the road. The child, whose name was not released, was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.

The OHP report states a 2002 Honda TRX 500 driven by James Votaw, 18, of Inola was eastbound when he lost control on a curve, went off the road throwing both him and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl off the ATV. The OHP report said Votaw was driving at an unsafe speed at the time of the crash.  Troopers said neither Votaw or the teen were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Cothren was transported to North Cypress Medical Center, but he died of his injuries. His 14-year-old passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to recover. A candlelight vigil will be held for Cothren at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tomball United Methodist Church.

The boy was not wearing a helmet and was riding in a place he was told not to go and lost control. Fortunately, the boy's 14-year-old cousin was able to lift the quad off of him and call for help. The boy is in the Phoenix Children's Hospital and is expected to recover.

Niemeyer was driving his off road vehicle on his property when he lost control, causing it to flip and roll on top of him. He was not wearing a helmet or any other protective equipment, and his head and chest were injured. The crash is still under investigation.

Alan Heiner, 37, of Vernal died after his all-terrain vehicle rolled in the community of Maeser Saturday night. Heiner was thrown from the ATV as it rolled, and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed is believed to have factored into the crash.

Walter was not wearing a helmet when he was ejected from his ATV and died at the scene. The truck driver who hit him had minor injuries but refused medical attention.

Two of the three girls, driver Flannagan and passenger Fullard, were thrown from the vehicle during the crash. None of the girls were wearing helmets or using safety belts. Flannagan and Fullard were taken to Shand UF in serious condition.

Antonio Jones, 39, died in the wreck on County Road 270 in Town Creek approximately six miles outside of Danville. Jones wasn't wearing a helmet when he hit a tree.

A long holiday weekend has ended in tragedy after a Cheatham County man was killed when his four-wheeler plunged down a ravine. Wade Glick, 37, went for a ride Monday evening and somehow lost control of his ATV off Leatherwood Road. "We talked a little bit, and then he got on a four-wheeler and rode down, rode away," said his father, Dave Glick. Two hours after his son left, Dave Glick said police knocked at his door and gave him the awful news.
