An investigation is underway into a deadly hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in Fontana. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at San Bernardino Avenue and Commerce Drive. Witnesses say a man was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk, when a semi-truck hit him and took off. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not released the victim's identity - only that he's in his 50s. So far, there are no details on the semi-truck driver.

A crash involving three trucks shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Hendricks County Wednesday morning and injured a construction worker. The crash happened at the 66 mile marker, near State Road 267. Indiana State Police dispatchers said westbound lanes were shut down around 10:10 a.m. They reopened around 11:45 a.m. ISP officials also said an Indiana Department of Transportation truck was involved in the wreck. The truck was in the area to fill potholes and a worker was hit by a vehicle, suffering minor injuries.

Crashes caused by freezing rain and icy road conditions closed lanes on Interstate 84 west of Pendleton on Monday morning. One of the crashes involved a FedEx trailer that split open at 6 a.m., spilling freight and blocking eastbound traffic, according to Oregon State Police. A commercial truck traveling behind the FedEx trailer also crashed. Neither driver was injured. The left eastbound lane is now open for traffic while workers continue to pick up debris and clear the scene.

Oregon State Police are investigating a log truck accident that sent logs tumbling across Highway 126W, west of Noti in Lane County on Tuesday. According to police: Eric S. Wedekind, 39 of Yoncalla, was driving the truck east when the logs began to roll off the vehicle while it was rounding a curve. The truck and trailer overturned, coming to rest on the side of the highway. The logs ended up on the shoulder and in a yard at 22092 Highway 126W.

Columbus police are investigating a crash that involved a salt truck where four people, three of them children, were injured Saturday evening. Officers responded to the crash on Skywae Drive and Schrock Road Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. A salt truck was reportedly involved in the crash. A four-year-old, a six-year-old and a seven-year-old child were all transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and one person was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. All are listed as stable.

The Belmont Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic accident. The wreck occurred at 9:27 a.m. on Interstate-85 North near the Exit 27 off ramp, according to the news release from the Belmont Police Department. The incident occurred when a tractor trailer ran into the back of a pickup truck that had slowed down due to weather related traffic conditions. Gilbert Lazarus Carmona, 28, of Rutherfordton, died in the crash, police say. The investigation is ongoing. It has not yet been determined if charges will be filed against the driver of the tractor trailer.

The Florida Highway Patrol has reopened all lanes of Interstate 75 at Gibsonton Drive following a fatal accident involving a car and an ABC Liquor semi truck. A FHP Sgt. says the semi and a BMW collided on the interstate around 2:30 a.m. in low visibility conditions. The car's driver skidded off the bridge and landed in water, about 20-feet below, in the Alafia River. The vehicle was pulled from the river around 4:30 a.m. with the driver still inside. Sgt. Gaskins says the driver of the BMW died at the scene. The driver of the semi was taken to Tampa General Hospital with minor injuries.

A vehicle that fled from police collided with a dump truck filled with gravel early Tuesday morning in south Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The crash occurred on 19th Avenue near Interstate 17, but the incident originally started at 15th Avenue and Roeser Road when a driver failed to yield to officers, said Sgt. Steve Martos, a Phoenix police spokesman. Officers did not pursue the car but later came upon the collision, Martos said. The driver of the vehicle suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was processed for a DUI, Martos said.

A Phoenix garbage-truck driver failed to yield before the truck collided with a motorcycle Thursday afternoon in a wreck that left the motorcyclist in critical condition, according to Phoenix police. The truck was leaving the driveway of the Carefree Transfer Station near Deer Valley Road and 16th Street in north Phoenix at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday and the driver did not yield for an eastbound Yamaha motorcyclist, said a spokesman with the Phoenix police. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, hit the front of the truck and was ejected from the bike.
