Portland, ORPolice have identified the 81-year-old man who was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 20 near Lebanon Thursday afternoon.
Samuel Slaughter of Sweet Home suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a commercial truck pulling a semi trailer and a car. Oregon State Police said at about 1 p.m. a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer stopped on westbound Highway 20 to wait for train to pass by so the driver could turn into a driveway.

Columbus, OHThe Marion post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one person Friday afternoon.
According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday along state Route 309 near state Route 746 in Marion County.
Investigators say that 68-year-old Gayle Callahan, 68, of Crestline was traveling west on S.R. 309 when she drove left of center, striking a tractor-trailer head-on.
Callahan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured.

Birmingham, ALA Hoover woman was killed early Friday when she was driving the wrong way on Interstate 20/59 near McCalla.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Celyce Olivia Thompson, 24. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash happened at 1:29 a.m. near Rock Mountain Lakes. Authorities said Thompson was driving her PT Cruiser northbound in the interstate's southbound lanes.

Boston, MAOne person was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer unit on Route 9 in Chesterfield on Wednesday night.
According to authorities, the tractor-trailer slid off the side of the road and into the snow-covered embankment. Officers think the driver tried to get out of the truck, and when they arrived, they found him pinned underneath the vehicle.
Rescue crews tried to extricate the driver, but were unsuccessful and he died on scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Madison, WIThe man who died in a crash with a semitrailer truck on Highway 151 was identified Wednesday as Joseph Kreklow by the Dane County medical examiner's office.
Kreklow, 28, of Sun Prairie, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of the highway when his vehicle struck the semi about 2 a.m. Tuesday. The headlights of Kreklow's vehicle were not on. Both vehicles were severely damaged, but the 63-year-old semi driver was not hurt.

Dallas-Ft. Worth, TXA man from North Richland Hills is dead after his car collided with a tractor-trailer around 4:04 a.m. on the on-ramp to the eastbound lanes of I-635E from Highway 114.
Police say the man was traveling the wrong way when his Honda collided head-on with the semi.
The driver has been identified as 22-year-old Jorge Rico.
Rico’s time of death is listed on the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website as 4:15 a.m., with a cause of death being multiple blunt force injuries.
Rico was the only person injured in the crash, which shut down the I-635E on-ramp for two hours.

Washington, DCTwo people were injured, one seriously, when a tractor trailer and a passenger car crashed on I-95 Sunday night, flipping the 18-wheeler on its side and setting it on fire.
All southbound lanes of I-95 were closed in the area of Brooklyn Bridge Road in Laurel, near the Howard County-Prince George's County line, according to police.
Two patients were transported for treatment, one to a local hospital with minor injuries, one to a trauma center with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The tractor trailer was carrying produce, police said.

Houston, TXA man is dead after driving the wrong way and crashing into an 18-wheeler.
According to the Houston Police Department, a man was driving a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck around 10:00 p.m. Friday.
The man somehow got on the westbound feeder lanes of I-10 going eastbound, the wrong direction
The driver then slammed head-on into an 18-wheeler going westbound.
The 25-year-old driver of the pickup truck was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated once police arrived.
He was taken to Hermann Memorial Hospital by Lifeflight in critical condition, where he later died.

Los Angeles, CAA Los Angeles Police Department officer, later identified as Nicholas Choung Lee, 40, was killed Friday morning in a crash involving a dump truck and a patrol vehicle in Beverly Hills.
Fire-rescue personnel responded to the crash at Loma Vista Drive near Doheny Road, near the Greystone Mansion area. A male officer died in the crash, according to the LAPD.
A female officer and the truck driver were hospitalized in critical condition. Officers gathered at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, just southeast of the crash site, to wait for updates.
