A pedestrian is dead after falling from an overpass on Interstate 35.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials tweeted about the accident just before noon on Tuesday, saying an adult had been transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with life-threatening injuries after possibly falling from an overpass at 5100 North I-35 near 51st Street.

The woman may have been hit by a car after falling from the overpass.

The Texas Department of Transportation said lanes of southbound I-35 are closed as officials work the scene.

A woman died Thursday afternoon after her car collided with a truck on the Southwest Side.

A Bexar County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said the woman, later identified as Yvonne Vidalez, 29, had been heading north on the Interstate 35 access road at Shepherd Road around 3 p.m. A 15-year-old female was her passenger.

A man, 39, driving a truck the opposite direction began to make a left turn at a stop sign when the front left portion of the woman's car struck the truck, authorities said.

A crash on Interstate 35 left a woman dead and two other injured Sunday morning.

The two-car crash happened around 7 a.m. near Turnersville Road outside of Buda.

EMS says the two people injured had non-life threatening injures. The woman who died and the two who were hurt were all in an Audi SUV.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a white van, was OK.

It is not clear what caused the crash.

An Oklahoma man died Saturday and two people were injured in a wreck on Interstate 35 in Love County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Zachary Bumgarner 19, of Marietta, was driving a pickup with three passengers south on Interstate 35. The road was icy, and the pickup went off the road and turned over on its side. Troopers said the pickup was traveling too fast for the road conditions.

An overturned tractor-trailer resulted Thursday afternoon in the closure of both northbound and southbound ramps from Interstate 35 to westbound Interstate 10 near downtown.

The wreck and resulting closure occurred at about 3 p.m. The flatbed 18-wheeler loaded with lumber left debris scattered across the highway and appeared to be leaking diesel fuel, according to police scanners.

A driver has been transported to the hospital after crashing off a bridge to the underpass below.

The crash closed southbound I-35 between Frankford Road and the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville around 11:30 a.m.

Careflight confirmed that the driver was trapped in the car and was taken to Medical Center of Plano.

The condition of the driver or the severity of injuries is not known.

Two people are injured – one critically – after a wrong-way crash on southbound I-35 in Pleasant Valley Friday morning. It happened just south of 152 Highway around 4 a.m. Police stated that a car was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when it struck another vehicle. One person has life-threatening injuries. A second victim has minor injuries.

Authorities say a Minnesota man was fatally struck by a car on Christmas as he tried to capture his wandering dog on an Iowa highway. The Iowa State Patrol says 74-year-old Lawrence Anderson, of Marine on St. Croix, Minn., walked into Interstate 35 in south central Iowa on Christmas night. Authorities say Anderson’s car was stranded, and his dog escaped from the vehicle. Shelton Short, of Osceola, was driving an SUV and struck Anderson as he tried to capture the dog. The 34-year-old told authorities he didn’t see Anderson.

About 9:45 p.m. Friday, James Betchan, 70, of Covington was headed north on Interstate 35 just north of Perry when his Dodge S250 ran off the roadway and into a ditch, according to the troopers.

Betchan was pronounced dead at the scene due to a previous medical condition, which troopers said caused the crash. No one else was injured in the crash.

A deadly crash closed lanes of Interstate 35E at the US 67 split in Oak Cliff early Wednesday morning. The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night. Police say the truck left the roadway and hit one of the concrete columns supporting the bridge. The driver died at the scene, according to the Dallas Sheriff's Office. Texas Department of Transportation engineers say they've inspected the bridge and don't believe there's any structural damage.
