 A section of scaffolding collapsed in downtown Raleigh, killing three people and hospitalizing another.  The movable scaffolding fell away from an 11-story building and into a parking lot below. All four parties were involved in the construction project and authorities are working to identify those who died. The incident is under current investigation. Check back for more information as it becomes available.

A Philadelphia native died Tuesday evening in Manhattan when a piece of plywood fell from a construction site and hit her. Tram Thuy Nguyen, 37, was across the street when the large piece of construction fence from a building site fell and hit her. The construction project has been shut down during an investigation. Turner Construction Co., the general contractor on the project, is working with authorities on the investigation into the incident.

At about 1:50pm, four men who were working on the Highway 99 Tunnel Project were installing rebar on a 25-foot wall when it for some reason gave out, causing the workers to fall to the ground. The identities of the men have not been released, but their ages are 23, 29, 31, and 36. Three of the victims sustained injuries but could walk away from the accident, but one man was seriously injured and had to be carried out by firefighters. Check back for updates.

A woman was driving on Interstate 15 near 400 North in Bountiful, Utah when her car crashed into the back of a parked construction worker's truck in the work zone at around 3 a.m. A passenger in the vehicle, Sarah O'Connor Green, was not wearing a seat belt, and she was ejected from the car and died on scene. The car driver, Misty Davis of Sandy, was transported to the hospital and is facing felony charges pending toxicology results.

An accident happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday in a construction zone on NW 48th Street just north of Interstate 80. A witness told police that a male driver in a white pickup indicated he wanted to drag race and accelerated away quckly onto NW 48th Street. Witnesses claim they subsequently found a dead body along the side the road near the intersection of NW 27th and West O Street. Sheriff's deputies found the motorcyclist dead at the site, and claim that the driver struck the victim and dragged them until the body was released from the car.

Shortly after 3:00pm, a car containing two people veered off of Highway 10 and crashed into some construction equipment before catching on fire. The fire trapped the victims inside and they were both killed and severely burned, making identification difficult. We will udpate this accident as more information is released.

Cody Petzold, 21, of Holly, Michigan apparently drove his 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck around barricades closing the entrance ramp from westbound 12 Mile Road to southbound I-75 at around 2:40 a.m. As the pickup entered I-75 from the closed ramp, Petzold drove through an additional barricade on the freeway and into the section of the bridge that was under construction. The pickup then drove off of the bridge, turning over, and landed on the roadway below. Petzold was killed by the impact, and a male passenger in the vehicle was brought to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a commercial box truck lost control while driving in the in the parking lot of an industrial building and struck an employee inside the building, which is located near Broadway and Dobson roads. The employee inside the building was killed. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

Ryan M. Alton was speeding in northwest Indiana when a police officer tried to pull him over. Alton refused to stop and instead sped-up, driving recklessly from lane to lane. He then struck the back of another vehicle, and debris from the crash hit a third. Alton fled the scene of the crash on foot, and broke into a resident's garage and stole shoes to replace those he had lost while running. Police found him in a shed at another home nearby. He was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. No one was hurt in the crash.

Two cars collided at the intersection of Southeast Murphy and Brosterhous roads, killing both drivers. There were no passengers in either car and no one else was hurt. Police are still investigating this accident and more information will be released at a later date.
