Three teens were injured in a two-car crash late Thursday.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office said Ashley Spaulding, 17, of Trenton, was driving a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire southbound on Jacksonburg Road just south of Taylor School Road at around 10 p.m.

Deputies said that as Spaulding attempted to pass a vehicle, she apparently lost control, and her car began swerving, eventually sliding sideways across both lanes of traffic.

The Sunfire then collided with a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Dalton Williams, 19, of Trenton.

Fort Lauderdale Police said they are looking for a driver responsible for critically injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident early Thursday. The crash occurred on the 600 block of West Broward Boulevard at about 12:27 a.m. Investigators said Daniel Francis Driscoll, 53, was trying to cross the boulevard, but he was not in a crosswalk at the time, police said. Driscoll was hit by the driver’s side view mirror and fell to the ground. Police believe the driver left the scene driving westbound on West Broward Boulevard and was driving a 1996-2000 model four-door green Honda Civic.

Newark Police are investigating a serious six-car crash that left an eight-month-old girl hospitalized in critical condition Thursday. It happened around 11 a.m. on Capital Trail at the Windy Hills Bridge. Police say a southbound Dodge Neon operated by a 36-year-old woman, with two small children inside, slid on the icy roadway and into the path of a northbound Honda Accord, operated by a 75-year-old man with a 75-year-old female passenger. The Neon was struck on the passenger side by the front of the Accord.

A driver was arrested Thursday night for allegedly slamming into a car, sending it and four passengers plunging into a flood control channel, then driving away from the crash, authorities said. The hit-and-run collision happened about 7:40 p.m. near Parthenia Street and Noble Avenue in North Hills, according to a watch commander with the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.

A grandmother was killed and her two young grandchildren were hospitalized after they were struck by a car as she pushed them across the street in a stroller in Sunrise on Christmas night. The incident happened as the woman was crossing Pine Island Road at Sunset Strip, a Sunrise Police spokesman said. One of the children was taken to Broward Health Medical Center by air rescue and the grandmother and other child were taken by an ambulance, police said. The grandmother, later identified as 61-year-old Li Fang Dong, died at the hospital.

A grandson of retired Florida State University football coach Bobby Bowden was among two young men killed Thursday in a traffic crash in Polk County, the Sheriff's Office said. Investigators said the driver, Rafael Fernandes De Aguiar Valim, 25, and passenger Taylor Jeffrey Bowden, 23, both of Winter Haven, and Robert Lewis Edwards, 22, of Boca Raton were at a bar in Winter Haven on Christmas night prior to the 2 a.m. crash in Winter Haven. Edwards, the back-seat passenger, survived the crash into a ditch or creek filled with 5 feet of water.

A man was fatally struck by a van Thursday afternoon on the South Side in the Englewood neighborhood. Jeffrey Bond, 65, was struck by a "maroon or brown van" as he stepped onto 59th Street near a bus stop about 4:40 p.m., according to a police News Affairs Officer and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene, police said. Bond, of the 5800 block of South Carpenter Street, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 5:23 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

A 6-year-old girl died Thursday afternoon after she was run over by a snack truck on the Southwest Side. San Antonio Police said the child, identified by family as April Nicole Soliz, had been buying candy with one of her friends, a 10-year-old girl, from the truck around 2:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of Prairie Flower Drive. Lopez said as the truck driver, a 50-year-old man, was trying to turn around on a dead-end street, Soliz jumped onto the vehicle's rear bumper. Police said the driver did not know she had jumped onto the vehicle.

The first hit-and-run happened in Queens at around 4:30 a.m. when Enrique Clemente-Ovando, 29, of Elmhurst, was struck and killed about a mile from his home, according to cops. The driver fled the crash in a beige Toyota Camry with Pennsylvania plates, police said. Cops said the car was traveling east on Astoria Blvd. when it struck Clemente-Ovando, who was attempting to cross the road near 31st Ave.

Wadesboro Police are investigating a deadly Christmas Day crash.

Investigators say a Volkswagon driving westbound on Highway 74 in Anson County crossed the line and hit a Dodge Intrepid going eastbound head-on at about 4:01 p.m. Several people were hurt and a baby died.

According to Wadesboro Police, the Hooper family was in the Volkswagon, heading back home to Gaston County after a holiday get-together in Hamlet.
