Three people were injured including two children in a crash Friday night in Green County, Wisconsin. The crash about 9:45 p.m. on Highway 11 in the Town of Sylvester resulted in a four-hour traffic diversion.

A 24-year-old Lake Mills woman was killed Sunday when her snowmobile hit a patch of open water and slid into trees along a riverbank, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said. The woman was riding second in a line of six snowmobiles heading south on the frozen river next to N3000 County BB at 4:21 p.m. Sunday. A 26-year-old Sun Prairie man was driving behind her, saw the crash and the open water and jumped off his snowmobile, which also crashed into trees, a news release stated.

Authorities in northwestern Wisconsin say two vehicles collided head-on, killing both drivers. The collision happened Friday about 5:45 p.m. near the village of Rock Falls. Dunn County deputies say one of the vehicles appears to have been across the center line when the impact occurred. The victims were identified as 19-year-old Kimberley E. Kresen of Eau Claire and 62-year-old Joyce J. Dawson of Rock Falls. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers were the only occupants in their vehicles.

Two children have died and three other people have been injured in a collision between a truck and an SUV in Pierce County. Sheriff's officials say a 12-year-old girl in the vehicle died at the scene of the crash Thursday afternoon in Prescott. Another passenger, a 5-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Centuria woman, and two other passengers, ages 5 and 3, were taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., for treatment of injuries.

Two children were killed, and three other people were hurt after a truck and an SUV collided yesterday in Oak Grove Township at the interesection of Hwy. 35 and 468th Ave. An 11-year-old girl in the SUV died at the scene and another passenger -- a five-year-old girl -- died later at a hospital. The crash happened about 3:40 yesterday afternoon.

A 33-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday in Milwaukee that occurred after a brief pursuit by police, and one or more people in each vehicle involved may have fled the scene.

Officers from District 5 spotted a 2005 Pontiac Aztek driving erratically without headlights by 9th and Locust streets around 2 a.m. and tried to stop the vehicle for about a minute but canceled the pursuit when the Aztek refused to pull over, police said.

Authorities have identified the victim of a rollover accident on Interstate 43 at Highway 100 Sunday morning.

The driver of the vehicle, Tammy Gawlitta, 39, of West Allis, was ejected from the passenger side window of her Dodge Durango and was trapped underneath in a ditch, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. Two passers-by lifted the vehicle off its side and pushed it upright before performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Gawlitta.

Menomonee Falls police report one person died as a result of Sunday's pileup crash on Highway 41/45. A quick burst of heavy snow late Sunday morning created dozens of crashes and several highway closures. Police said a 63-year-old man from Franklin died as a result of the chain reaction crash that occurred around 11:15 a.m.

State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, a likley candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor, was injured in a crash Sunday morning on I-94 in Racine County. Vinehout was traveling to Milwaukee. Vinehout (D-Alma) had just canceled events in Racine and Kenosha as a snowstorm hit the region. Media has reported that she has possibly suffered an arm injury. The storm caused crashes on virtually every major thoroughfare in the region Sunday, with several multiple-vehicle pile-ups reported. The crash in Racine County forced the closure of eastbound I-94 for much of the day.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said a crash in the Town of Trenton Sunday killed one person. A Sheriff spokesperson said deputies were called at 1:22 p.m. to the area of Highway 68 between Buckhorn Road and County Road F. The crash occurred between a tractor trailer and a passenger car. One person was killed and 3 others were injured in the crash. Officials said the semi tractor-trailer caught fire following the crash. The identity of the victims of the crash has not been released.
