A wife and mother died after a plane crash in Denton County.

Jennifer Lunow, 35, was a passenger in her husband Danny Lunow’s single engine Beechcraft 24, along with their 5 year old daughter, when the plane crashed less than a mile away from Denton Muncipal Airport Saturday night.

The family was heading to back to Hicks Airfield when Danny Lunow called Denton Municipal Airport to report engine problems, saying he had lost oil pressure and lost control of his propeller, said Lynn Lunsford, spokesperson for the FAA.

The plane crashed in a field near the airport.

A southern tier woman is accused of driving drunk and fleeing the scene of an accident with another motorist.

Deputies were called to the intersection of Ivory Street and Falconer in Frewsburg around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday for a property damage accident involving two vehicles. But by the time authorities arrived, one of the drivers had fled.

Investigators say the public helped them locate the driver, 46-year-old Amy Schulz, who was arrested at her home a short time later.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies say a driver crashed into a train before daybreak, ran from his burning car and asked neighbors for a place to sleep.

The sheriff’s department reported Monday that 24-year-old Kyle Randall was arrested on a drunken driving charge after the neighbors called officers about 5 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies came to investigate and noticed a plume of smoke in the distance that turned out to be the burning car. They said the car was dragged 300 feet before Randall escaped. They described it as “burned out.”

There was a fatal crash that happened on Piilani Highway around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say a 28-year-old male from Kula was traveling North Bound in a pickup truck when he drifted into the bicycle lane and struck a bicyclist.

The bicyclist has been identified as 61-year-old Karl Hagen of Kihei.

Hagen was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room where he expired as a result of his injuries.

It’s unknown at this time if speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

A motorcyclist in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Prince George’s County died Saturday evening, Maryland State Police said.

Jose Roberto Gomez, 35, of Baltimore, was headed southbound on I-95 near Route 212 about 7 p.m., when his Suzuki GSX-R 600 motorcycle struck a Volkswagen going in the same direction, police said. The Suzuki was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Gomez apparently lost control of the Suzuki and was ejected, police said. He landed on a travel portion of the highway and was then struck by a southbound tractor-trailer, police said.

A 42-year-old man is dead after a single vehicle rollover crash Saturday night near Hamilton, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

MHP dispatchers say the Hamilton resident was driving a Chevy Silverado around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Westhills Way and Blodgett Camp Road when he lost control of the truck, causing the vehicle to roll down an embankment.

We're told the truck came to a rest on its top. Emergency responders had to extricate the driver and a 37-year-old male passenger.

A 17-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle rollover in Corona de Tucson Saturday.

Shortly before 7 p.m., Devlen Crown was driving northbound in the 17900 block of South Houghton Road, south of Sahuarita Road, at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car and rolled it, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, said in a news release.

An 18-year-old passenger was taken to a trauma center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Neither teen was wearing a seat belt, the release said.

A fatal Lake County crash on County Road 42 killed a baby girl and injured two other people, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP police report said the child — less than a year old — was a passenger in a 1994 Toyota Tacoma driven by Kimberly Kinggard, 40, of DeLand.

Troopers said Kinggard was driving westbound on County Road 42 around 7:08 p.m. Saturday, when the car swerved to the right onto the paved shoulder.

The identity of the pedestrian who was killed Saturday afternoon when she was struck by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 59 has been released.

The Forrest County Deputy Coroner stated that the victim was 59-year-old Carmen Corey of McLain.

A Hattiesburg Police spokesman said officers received a call at 4:50 p.m. reporting that a pedestrian had been stuck by an 18-wheeler traveling south on Interstate 59.

Traxler said officers found Corey dead at the scene.

A man was killed Saturday night when a Houston police officer hit him with an department-issued pickup on Highway 288.

Investigators said the officer was heading home around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, when a man darted in front of him on the stretch of freeway near Holcombe Boulevard.

The officer hit the brakes, but was not able to stop in time to avoid the man.

The force of the accident left a large dent in the pickup.

Emergency responders transported the man to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died.
