The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the passenger killed in a DWI crash early Saturday as Mandi Garza, 26.

Garza was in a Chevrolet Malibu that was hit by a Ford F150 pickup at about 2 a.m. in the 1700 block of Interstate 10, north of downtown, authorities said.

The man driving the Malibu has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
Manuel Martinez-Chavarria, 29, the man driving the pickup, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

One woman was killed in a crash near Cannon Beach and another was rescued after a hitchhiker came across the wreckage.

Police said the car went off of Highway 101 and traveled about 40 feet down an embankment, where it remained for at least 12 hours before the hitchhiker called emergency responders Sunday evening.

The right side of the vehicle had crashed into a tree and the passenger, 23-year-old Ruth A. Delgado of Los Angeles, was killed, according to Oregon State Police.

State police say a motorcycle driver has been charged with riding drunk and manslaughter after a crash that killed his passenger.

They say Dennis Conklin of Williamson has been charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated following an investigation of the wreck that left 46-year-old Mary Nolan of Rochester dead.

Troopers say Conklin was weaving through traffic at high speed when he crashed around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 590 in Rochester.

Nolan as thrown from the bike and Conklin was injured.

Police have identified a Shelton woman as the victim in a fatal motorcycle accident on Bank Street Saturday afternoon.

Donna Starzecki, 51, was leaving from 951 Bank Street to head westbound about 1:15 p.m. when struck a box truck, police said.

Police said Starzecki was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. She died shortly after arrival. Police said she was wearing a helmet when the accident happened.

Police had closed to area to traffic for several hours in order to investigate the accident.

State police say a pedestrian died while walking across Louisiana Highway 1 in Raceland.

Trooper Evan Harrell says 29-year-old David Bergeron, of Raceland, was killed Saturday night when he walked directly into the path of a pickup driven by 51-year-old Billy Duet, also of Raceland.

Harrell says Bergeron was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's office.

The crash remains under investigation.

A Lincoln woman has died after being involved in a motorcycle vs. SUV crash.

Police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Jessie McCain.

Lincoln police say rescue crews were called to the intersection of Cotner Boulevard and O Street just after 11 p.m. Saturday. Capt. Michon Morrow says McCain was a passenger on a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on O Street when the driver, 21-year-old Tyler Wilson, ran a red light and hit a Jeep Liberty preparing to turn west.

Shortly before 1:45 pm on July 19, 2014, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on LA Hwy 74 at LA Hwy 938 (KC Road) in Ascension Parish. The crash took the life of 22 year old Patrick G. Breaux of Gonzales, LA.

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon after crashing into a tow truck.

Police have identified the motorcyclist as Craig Nolan Leggett, 50, of James City County.

The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. in the 8500 block of Richmond Rd.

According to Deputy Chief Stephen Rubino with the James City Co. Police Dept., Leggett was speeding on Richmond Rd.

When he made a left turn at the Anderson’s Corner intersection, he hit a tow truck that was crossing Richmond Road from a BP Gas Station, according to police.

The family of a man who was killed by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 on Saturday has more questions than answers about what led up to the deadly crash. Norman Mello, 42, was headed south on I-95 on his motorcycle Saturday evening. That’s when Florida Highway Patrol said Varissa Vargas, 20, was driving the wrong way in the express lanes between State Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway) and Highway 112.

Kingsport police believe speed and alcohol use played a role in a fatal head-on collision Saturday morning on East Stone Drive that left one man dead and two other people with possible injuries. The deceased was identified by the Kingsport Police Department as Bobby D. Jarrett, 50, of Church Hill. According to police reports, Jarrett was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Kia Spectra on East Stone Drive in the vicinity of Tyson Lane when he was struck head-on by a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Samuel G. Huffine, 27, of Kingsport.
