A Charlotte woman has been charged in connection with the July 22 wreck in southwest Charlotte that killed a man, police say.

Lola Porter, 22, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, after she was released from Carolinas Medical Center, police said. Porter was hospitalized after the crash, which took place about 1:35 a.m. July 22 in the 13800 block of Brown-Grier Road, near Sandy Porter Road.

Christopher Gerard Turner, 43, was killed in the single-vehicle wreck.

Boise County officials say a man reported missing on Tuesday was found dead at the scene of a crash off Bogus Basin Road Thursday afternoon.

Boise County Coroner Pam Garlock confirms the deceased man is 26-year-old Eian Wintz of Caldwell. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe his truck went off the road and down the steep hillside around 9 p.m. Tuesday between milepost 10 and 11.

They say Wintz was in the area mountain biking. He said he was coming down, but never showed up.

A 53-year-old woman was killed when a pickup truck struck her on Tuesday night.

Denise Michelle Holliday, 53, was crossing South Saunders Street near its intersection with Carolina Pines Avenue just after 9 p.m., according to the Raleigh Police Department.

At the time of the collision, Holliday was not within a crosswalk and oncoming traffic had a green light, according to a preliminary police investigation. The vehicle was traveling at about 39 mph when it hit her, according to police.

Two people are dead following a three-vehicle crash in Warren County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed. The accident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection on Township Line Road and State Route 73 in Clearcreek Township. Officials say Jacqueline Montgomery, driving a red 2005 Hyundai, hit a flat-bed lumber truck after running a stop sign. The collision forced the truck left of center and head on into a minivan traveling in the opposite direction.

Two people are dead following a major crash at the Hellam Exit of Route 30 in York County. The crash happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday. It involved multiple vehicles on the westbound ramp of Route 30 at Frysville Road. Authorities tell News 8 that for an unknown reason, a construction van veered into the right westbound lane and rear-ended a pickup truck. Both vehicles lost control and the construction van, carrying the driver and three passengers, flipped several times and came to a halt on the shoulder along Route 30.

COLUMBUS, Ind. -

An 18-year-old woman from Columbus was killed in a crash just before noon Tuesday.

It happened on Deaver Rd. between County Roads 50 W and 150 W.

Columbus Police and Fire crews found a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue that struck a utility pole on the south side of the road. The driver, 18-year-old Taylor Compton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters used extrication equipment to free Compton from the car.

Investigators believe Compton was driving eastbound on Deaver Road when her car left the roadway.
