Phoenix, AZA landscaper, later identified as Octavio Herrera, 61, is in critical condition after he was hit by a pickup truck in a chain-reaction crash in the east Valley Wednesday morning.
Police said a 17-year-old Mustang driver, who was street racing with another teen, blew through a stop sign and hit the exterminator's pickup near 52nd Street and Earll Drive at about 8 a.m.
The crash sent the truck and its 27-year-old driver through a block wall, hitting a landscaper, who was mowing a lawn. The driver of the pickup was hurt but is expected to be OK.

Madison, WIAn 18-year-old Oregon woman will be ticketed for her role in a head-on crash Tuesday morning in the Town of Dunn that injured her and another driver.
The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. at Highway B at White Oak Trail when Danielle Waldvogel, 18, crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a vehicle traveling the opposite direction, according to a Dane County sheriff's office news release.
The driver of the other car, Ruth Drage, 54, of Middleton had to be extricated from her vehicle by Oregon firefighters, officials said.

Washington, DCA 16-year-old was seriously injured after falling from a mountain board, similar to a skateboard, while being pulled by a vehicle in Ashburn, Va., Sunday.
Another 16-year-old was driving the vehicle, which had a rope tied to the rear, in the parking lot of Broad Run High School. That teen has been charged with reckless driving.
The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital and was later airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Last year, another Virginia teen died in a similar incident.

Honolulu, HIA 16-year-old girl is dead after crashing her motor scooter on the Likelike Hwy. on-ramp to the west-bound direction of H-3 Fwy. The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
“When (officers) got up here, what they found was a father and daughter who were riding their motor scooters heading up to the H-3, when the daughter, who was the lead vehicle, lost control and struck the guardrail,” said Lt. Bobby Towne of the Honolulu Police Dept.

Atlanta, GAA serious crash involving a Haralson County school bus and a pickup truck left at least 16 people injured Thursday morning. The accident took place on Highway 120 near Buchanan. The Georgia State Patrol said a Dodge pickup truck driven by a 17 year old female was traveling west on Highway 120 towards Tallapoosa when it crossed the centerline and struck the school bus head-on. Haralson County authorities at the scene stated that they transported 14 students and the school bus driver to Tanner Higgins Hospital in Bremen with minor injuries. Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLTwo teenage sisters were injured after a driver struck them early Tuesday morning.
A Tampa Police spokesperson says Norma Velasquez-Cabrera, 15, and Victoria Velasquez-Cabrera, 14, just left their apartment in the Meridian Pointe complex and were walking to Middleton High School. As they tried to cross East Hillsborough Avenue, they were hit by a car at 7:15 a.m.
Norma is critically injured, Davis said. Their mother rushed to the hospital to be with them.

Detroit, MI16-year-old boy was killed and two other people were injured after the stolen car they were in hit a pole during a police chase early Monday morning on Detroit’s east side, according to Detroit police.
The crash came after a reported carjacking at 1:55 a.m. in the area of Van Dyke and Outer Drive. A police patrol saw the 1994 Dodge Duster shortly afterward, and a pursuit ensued, Sgt. Michael Woody with Detroit Police Department said.

Indianapolis, INJust before 7 a.m. Monday, a Washington Township school bus and three other vehicles were involved in a crash at the intersection of 65th Street and Keystone Avenue.
According to IFD, witnesses say the accident happened when a Washington Township school bus turned in front of a Chevy HHR. Three teens in the HHR were all sent to the hospital in serious condition. Two other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Officials say the school bus had no children on board at the time of the crash.

South Bend-Elkhart, INTwo people were injured in a crash in Cass County when the driver fell asleep. Kyle Hopkins was driving west on U.S. 12 east of Birch Road in Porter Township, west of White Pigeon, around 11:13 p.m. Sunday. When he dozed off, the vehicle crossed the center line, went off the road and overturned, according to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department. Hopkins, 17, from Sturgis, and his passenger, 21-year-old Frank Tenny-Button of Sturgis, were transported to a hospital.

Houston, TXA 17-year-old from the Woodlands is facing charges for a crash that sent two other teenagers to the hospital.
Authorities say Tyler Schlegel was behind the wheel of a car illegally racing on Gosling Road when the cars hit each other and one crashed into a tree.
According to investigators, while one teen was trapped inside and the other was searching for help, Schlegel took his car and parked it down the street. Police say when he was identified as a driver, he tried to run. He was quickly arrested.
