Friday, March 21, 2014A man who rammed into Santa Clara County Sheriff’s patrol cars and fled into the woods was arrested in unincorporated Santa Clara County on Saturday morning, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 6600 block of Croy Road around 5:30 a.m., police said.
When deputies arrived on scene they found the suspicious vehicle parked at a home on Esther Lake Drive, police said.
The suspect drove the vehicle into three patrol cars multiple times as deputies were getting out, he said.

Boston, MAPolice say a New Hampshire man crashed into three police cruisers, causing minor injuries to two Salem officers.
Police say they found 30-year-old Luis Figueroa passed out in the front seat of a running car stopped on a road in a condominium complex on Friday night.
When the officer woke him, police say he sped off, hitting several parked cars, before driving head-on into a police cruiser, pushing it back about 15 feet. Police say he hit two other cruisers as he tried to get away.

New York, NYA state trooper is recovering from injuries sustained when his cruiser was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Stamford around midnight Tuesday.
Police said Trooper Thomas Ehret, 35, had pulled over a car on I-95 southbound and was parked on the right shoulder near exit 8 when a tractor-trailer driving in the opposite direction drifted onto the shoulder and sideswiped the cruiser.
The truck, driven by 44-year-old John Sgro, of Columbus, N.J., stopped briefly, then sped back up and fled the scene, police said.

Los Angeles, CATwo Los Angeles Police Department officers were in serious condition Monday morning after a crash involving their unmarked patrol vehicle and a sport utility vehicle in the Atwater Village area north of downtown Los Angeles.
Four officers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two of those officers were taken to the hospital but were later released.
Three people in the SUV also were hospitalized.
The crash was reported at about 9 a.m. near Fletcher Drive and San Fernando Road, about six miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

Trenton-NJA New Jersey State Police trooper was one of three people injured in a crash on Sunday morning along the Garden State Parkway.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 65.1 in Stafford.
Investigators say the trooper had stopped a vehicle.
That's when another car hit the trooper's vehicle, causing it to hit the car he stopped.
One of the cars caught fire, police say.
Two civilians involved in the crash were flown to Atlantic City Trauma Center.
The trooper was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Indianapolis, INA man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he crashed his vehicle into a squad car and later blew a .12 percent on a breath test.
Around 2:40 a.m., an officer was sitting in his parked police vehicle in the 300 block of South Meridian Street when he noticed a vehicle exiting the wrong way from a parking lot, a police report said.
The officer then felt an impact on his car, got out, and saw that the vehicle had hit the left rear bumper of the squad car, causing light damage and scuffing.

Hartford & New Haven, CTA 25-year-old New Britain man was charged with operating under the influence after he crashed into a Middletown police cruiser early Sunday, police said.
Christopher Griffiths, 25, struck a cruiser operated by Officer Patrick Kiely at the intersection of Washington and High streets around 12:50 a.m., police said. Kiely was stopped at a red light when Griffiths struck him from behind.

Atlanta, GAAn officer-involved car crash Saturday morning left one person dead. It happened around 1:30 a.m. in Atlanta on Cleveland Avenue. Investigators said the Atlanta officer was on his way to a call when a van turned into his path. They did not immediately know whether the officer's lights and sirens were activated when the accident happened. One person in the van died. He was later identified as Aarron Brown, Sr., 57. A second person was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. The officer complained of minor injuries. The names of those involved were not immediately released.

Thursday, March 13, 2014An Iowa State Patrol trooper suffered what appear to be minor injuries when his squad car was struck while he was investigating a crash on Interstate 80 Friday morning.
Sgt. Sharon Kurt said the trooper, who is not yet being identified, was investigating a crash that had occurred on Interstate 80 near Oxford around 6:40 a.m. The trooper was sitting in his car and set to begin the investigation on the initial crash when his squad car was hit by a pickup that had been hit by a semi-trailer truck.

Jackson, MSThe City of Brandon experienced two incidents this morning involving Brandon Police Department units.
The first incident involved a motorcycle officer. The single accident occurred at approximately 8:31 am in the westbound lane of Government St./Hwy 80, near the I-20 over pass.
Officer Chase Beamon was transported to University Medical Center via American Medical Response Ambulance. The officer is responsive and is currently being treated.
