Virginia State Police say an 18-year-old Virginia Beach woman was killed in a car crash on I-64 East Saturday night near Armistead Avenue in Hampton.

According to a spokeswoman for Virginia State Police, the six-vehicle crash took place around 11:48 p.m. The victim, Briana Luckenbill, of the 4000 block of Old Princess Road, was a front seat passenger in a vehicle involved.

State police are still investigating the crash and have sent out the agency's reconstruction team to assist the effort.

Anne Arundel County police said it appears excessive speed contributed to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV Saturday evening.

Police were called to Route 198 and Race Track Road in Laurel, Md., for reports of an accident. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Investigators said two motorcycles were traveling west on Route 198 at a high rate of speed toward the entrance of the Laurel Race Track. As the motorcycles approached the intersection, an Isuzu Rodeo was making a left hand turn onto Race Track Road.

An 18-year-old Bradenton man died Saturday afternoon from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Cortez Rd.

The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of 106th St. Hugo Arellano was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Arellano was traveling east on his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle when he was hit by a 2012 Buick LaCrosse driven by 90-year-old William Mitchell of Bradenton. Investigators say Mitchell was traveling west on Cortez and was attempting to turn left onto 106th St. when he violated Arellano’s right of way.

A 25-year-old woman died after her car collided with a train in Independence early Saturday morning, according to the West Hennepin Public Safety Department.

Authorities say Paulina Lang, of Buffalo, was alone when a train crashed into her compact car at an intersection off Highway 12 at northbound County Road 92 around 1:15 a.m., authorities say.

Authorities say Lang had gone around flashing warning gates at the crossing to make a right hand turn to go north on CR-92 when the 2013 Chevrolet Spark she was driving was hit by a westbound Burlington North Santa Fe train.

A man was killed Saturday morning after driving into a pole in Cherokee County.

According to Georgia State Patrol, the man went off the road while driving in a curve on Arnold Mill Road around 6:15 a.m.

Police say the man struck a utility pole and was ejected from his vehicle.

He was pronounced dead and the scene and was not wearing a seat belt, according to authorities.

Georgia State Patrol says blood was drawn from the man to determine if alcohol played a role in the crash.

A second accident killed another man on the same Cherokee County road within a few hours Saturday morning.

According to Georgia State Patrol, 52-year-old John Meyer was riding a motorcycle on Arnold Mill Road when the he crossed the centerline of the road at O'Hara Drive and hit a concrete mixer truck head-on.

The crash occurred around 11:15 a.m.

Authorities say the Meyer was killed on impact. No one in the concrete mixer truck was injured.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Patricia D. Burch-White, 33, of South Avenue was arrested after crashing into cars parked in the 2200 block of Niagara Street, in Niagara Falls.

Police said Burch-White furnished false names during questioning and was charged with false personation, unlicensed operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

A plane became entangled in the strings of a skydiver's parachute, sending both crashing into the ground near Tampa, Fla., with both the pilot and jumper hospitalized with minor injuries.

A Polk County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman says 87-year-old pilot Shannon Trembley was doing takeoff and landing maneuvers Saturday in his Cessna at the South Lakeland Airport in Mulberry. On his third landing pass, the wing of his plane became entangled in the strings of 49-year-old Gainesville skydiver John Frost's parachute about 75 feet above the ground.

A small plane crashed Saturday at H.L. Sonny Callahan Airport in Fairhope, sending one man to a local hospital.

The crash was reported around 2 p.m. when emergency medical responders were dispatched to the scene. The man who was flying the small Cessna has not yet been identified.

Officials said the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department was still on scene around 3:30 p.m. The man was taken by Life Flight to USA Medical Center. A hospital official confirmed someone matching the description of the pilot arrived in their emergency room around 4:25 p.m.
