Two men died and a third was seriously injured early Sunday when the pickup they were in failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a dump truck west of here, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

A Ford F-150 pickup driven by Michael Rameden, 22, Ray, was southbound on Williams County Road 5 at an unknown highway speed when it did not stop at the stop sign at the junction of U.S. Highway 2, the Patrol said.

A Covington man died late Sunday in a crash on Interstate 75.

Williamstown police said Joseph Lorenz's car ran into the back of a tractor-trailer that had slowed in Sunday's snow.

Lorenz, 23, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The crash remains under investigation.

A woman died Sunday after her car ran off the road into a creek in Washington County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 5:55 p.m., Sherry L. Hockett, 44, of Bartlesville, was driving on a county road about a mile south of Bartlesville. The car went left of center in a curve and met another vehicle.

Troopers said Hockett tried to steer away but her car slid and hit a guard rail and then flipped over it into a creek.

Hockett, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

Six teens were injured in a rollover crash on a rural Clackamas County road Saturday evening near Molalla.

Clackamas County deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash at about 7:20 p.m., according to a news release from the county sheriff’s office.

San Francisco police are investigating a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian that happened in the city’s Sunset District on Sunday night, a police sergeant said.

Officers responded to a report of the collision in the 3700 block of Ulloa Street near 39th Avenue around 9:45 p.m., police said.

A vehicle traveling east on Ulloa Street hit a pedestrian who was in the crosswalk, he said.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital where she is in serious but stable condition, police said.

A cyclist was seriously injured when several bicycles in a caravan crashed Sunday.

A caravan of about 30 cyclists with the Suncoast Cycling Club were nearing the end of 57-mile ride when the accident occurred shortly after noon, Pinellas deputies said. The riders were headed north on County Road 1 just north of Michigan Boulevard when a bike ridden by Roberto Singson, 53, of 2053 Diplomat Drive in Clearwater clipped the back tire of a rider in front of him.

Authorities say a 22-year-old college student from Livingston County has died in a snowboarding accident at an Adirondack ski area.

State police have identified Austin White of Hemlock in Livingston County as the man who died in the accident Sunday afternoon at Whiteface Mountain, near Lake Placid. Troopers say he ran off the Excelsior trail and into a wooded area, where he hit a tree.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

A Quabbin Regional High School senior died and another Quabbin senior was seriously injured when their car veered off Old Turnpike Road and struck a tree early Sunday morning.

Quabbin Regional School District Superintendent Maureen M. Marshall identified the teen who died as Jeremy Kauppila of Hubbardston, and said Aaron Witkos, 17, of Oakham, was the driver.

Mr. Kauppila, 17, was a member of the Barre high school's junior ROTC program and a player on the football team, Ms. Marshall said.

“He was very, very involved in ROTC,” Ms. Marshall said.

The driver of a minivan allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 5-year-old boy crossing a street in Brooklyn with his mother Sunday evening has been arrested, police say.

Rashard Charles died after being hit by the car on Empire Boulevard in Crown Heights about 8:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Charles and his mother were crossing the road in the middle of a block when they were hit by by a double-parked minivan backing into the roadway, police said.

The boy and his mother were both knocked to the ground and the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A motorcyclist died after veering off the roadway and down an embankment in the Cleveland National Forest southeast of Alpine.

The crash near the intersection of Japatul and High Glen roads was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire.

The motorcycle was found down an embankment in the Horsethief Canyon area, according to Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser, who said the rider died at the scene.
