A motorcyclist lost control on FM 1960 overnight and was hit by a pickup truck in northwest Houston.

Police say the motorcyclist was leaving a shopping center parking lot near Tomball Parkway when something went wrong, sending him into oncoming traffic.

"Apparently lost control of his motorcycle, crossed three lanes of traffic and went into the eastbound lanes," said Sgt. J.R. Roberts with the Houston Police Department.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and police say that is when the pickup truck hit him. He died at the scene.

A motorcyclist died after an accident with a wrecker in far southwest Houston this morning.

Authorities say the motorcyclist was speeding on West Airport near Sandpiper when a wrecker tried to turn in front of the bike.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The wrecker driver was not under the influence and is not facing charges at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.

A man believed to have driven a car into the side of a Peerless Tire store has turned himself in to Broomfield Police. Early Saturday morning, a witness saw a white Toyota Camry had been driven into the side of the building at 11985 Teller St., causing several thousand dollars in damage that included a gaping hole on the west side of the building. A man was seen getting out of the car and walking away. Officers searched the area, but the driver was not found.

A 51-year-old James City County woman was killed in a single-vehicle car crash Saturday at the 9500 block of Barnes Road. According to a preliminary investigation done by police, the woman, Bridgette Rogers, was driving a 1993 Mazda Protege north on Barnes Road when the vehicle swerved left and over-corrected, sliding off the roadway and striking a tree. Police believe she was killed on impact. Police said she was wearing a seatbelt and speed was not believed to be a factor but the crash remains under investigation.

According to police, a single vehicle accident happened on Dorsey Lane near Ward Avenue Saturday night around 10:50. The driver of a Toyota Tacoma pickup was traveling northbound on Dorsey Lane, lost control in a curve at the intersection and hit a utility pole. The truck then rotated and slid into the easement striking a second utility pole. The truck flipped on its side and stopped. LG&E arrived on scene to cut the power lines before the driver could be pulled from the truck.

A man was critically injured following a two-vehicle crash in Santa Ana Saturday night, according to police.

The incident occurred near Civic Center Drive and English Street around 11:15 p.m.

According to police, a Ford Explorer collided with a car, and the Explorer wound up on top of a parked car.

"It looks like somebody ran a red light," said the Santa Ana police Commander, although the collision was still under investigation.

A man has been arrested after police say he hit a woman with his car, killing her, around 10 p.m. Saturday in the 4300 block of Berke St. at Seminary Road. Officers received a call regarding a woman laying in the roadway near the Southgate Manor apartments, and discovered she had been hit by car upon arrival. The woman, who has only been identified as 52 years old, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. The man who police say hit the woman with his car has been identified as Pedro Garcia, 33.

A Grants Pass man who died in a Southern Oregon motorcycle crash on Saturday has been identified as James William Osborne. Oregon State Police say Osborne, 47, was driving north on U.S. 199 alongside his brother, who was driving a separate motorcycle. At about 5:30 p.m., the pair came upon a curve at milepost 25 near Sauers Flat in Josephine County. James Osborne lost control of his 2008 Suzuki, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, sideswiped a car, and struck a tree stump, police said. Troopers believe excessive speed may have factored into the crash.

A man died after his motorcycle burst into flames in an accident Saturday night in Marrero. At 5:38 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Silverlily Lane and Fourth Street. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, who was identified as 28-year-old Mario Ginorio of Westwego, was traveling eastbound on Fourth Street when the accident occurred. Ginorio's motorcycle struck a 2006 Ford box truck, which was being driven by 47-year-old Patrick Derrick Lee of Harvey, investigators said.

A Marysville child was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after a one-car collision on Highway 530 near Darrington Saturday morning. The girl, 2, was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon. A Marysville man, 27, also was injured. He was treated and released from Cascade Valley Hospital. The Washington State Patrol said the man was driving a Honda Civic eastbound when he rolled the car. It ran into a private driveway before landing in a ditch.
