A woman has died following a head-on crash near Simpsonville. According to state troopers, the wreck happened around 11:25 a.m. Saturday- on E. Georgia Road just outside Simpsonville city limits. Investigators said Joyce Mahaffey's, 70, vehicle crossed the center line, causing it to hit another vehicle head-on. State troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt and died at the hospital a short time after the crash. The driver was the only person in the second vehicle and was not injured.

Two people died in a Mayes County crash Wednesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Benjamin M. Morgan, 20, of Peggs, the driver of a car, and passenger Evelyn M. Hays, 43, of Peggs, both died in a head-on collision with a pickup about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday on State Highway 82 about 3.7 miles south of Locust Grove, the patrol reports. Morgan was driving north on SH 82 when a pickup driven south by Cooper S. Day, 47, of Tahlequah, tried to pass another vehicle that was turning right onto a private drive. Day's pickup struck Morgan's car head-on, the patrol reports.

Police in Salisbury are investigating after pregnant woman was involved in a head-on crash that killed her unborn child. According to the Salisbury Police Department, officers were called to a crash along the 300 block of South Main Street near the intersection of West Horah St. around noon on Friday. Officers say a 2011 Chevrolet car and 2002 Ford pickup truck had struck head on. Witnesses told police that the driver of the Chevrolet, a pregnant woman, was driving left of center for about a block before the crash.

An investigation was under Friday into a head-on crash in rural East San Diego County that killed a suspected drunken driver and left a 48-year-old Humbolt woman hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred on Church Road, south of Old Highway 80, late Thursday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol Office.

A third person has died from injuries in a Dec. 21 head-on collision in Gardendale. Mickie Lynne Farmer, 33, was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m. Friday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. She had been at UAB Hospital since the crash one week ago today. The accident happened at 7:06 p.m. on Old Highway 31 at Church Road. A 2002 Ford F-150 driving northbound crossed over the grassy median into oncoming traffic and struck a Chevrolet Lumina head on.

Two drivers were taken to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon following a head-on collision Friday evening northwest of Burlington on Chuckanut Drive. Calvin H. Long, 54, of Everett was driving a Honda Civic on Highway 11 when he crossed the center line, colliding with a Chevy pickup truck. Bow resident David Crane, 61, was driving the pickup truck. The report shows Long was not wearing a seat belt. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved. As population grows in Skagit County, Washington State, we are seeing more and more collisions, many of them serious or fatal.

State police say a 21-year-old Thibodaux man died in a head-on collision on La. 182 in Raceland. Troopers say Andrew Carter died after the car he was riding in crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming car around 3 p.m. Sunday. Troopers says Carter was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Harrell says the drivers of both vehicles - both wearing seat belts during the crash - were taken to Thibodaux Regional Hospital with severe injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

A head-on crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 120 in Lyons killed a Lake Geneva man and injured two others, according to a statement from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office. At around 4 p.m. Jeffrey Peiffer, 52, of Lake Geneva, was driving south on Highway 120 north of Prairie Road when he crossed the center line and struck a car driven by Wolfgang Schubert, 69, of Wauconda, Ill., with one passenger, Rosalina Deinlein, 40, of Morton Grove, Ill. The crash shut down the highway for hours.

Three people died Nov. 14 in a two-car head-on collision on Highway 104 near Balmoral Place NE in Kingston. The State Patrol identified the deceased as Robin N. Bishop, 59, of Kingston, the only occupant of a 1994 Lexus; and Anthony A. Adams and Marion D. Sparks, both 44, of Little Boston, the occupants of a 1985 Ford Escort. All were declared dead at the scene. The crash occurred at about 7 p.m. According to the State Patrol, Bishop was driving westbound on 104 when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck the Ford Escort, driven by Adams.
