Sheriff's deputies arrested a man for drunk driving following a crash that killed a pedestrian in Dubuque County early Sunday morning.
The crash happened just before 3 a.m. near Farley. Law officers say 24-year-old Alex Hannan was merging onto Highway 20 when he hit the pedestrian later identified as Dawson Besler, 21, a student at the University of Northern Iowa.. Hannan is in the Dubuque County Jail for Operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Traffic was backed up for more than three hours as crews investigated the crash.
A motorcycle accident Saturday claimed the life of a Clinton man.
Officials confirmed today the identity of a man pronounced dead at the scene of the accident as Jonathan Nash, 41, of Clinton.
According to a press release, Clinton County deputies were dispatched at 7:19 p.m. Saturday night for a motorcycle accident in the 3800 block of Iowa 136, approximately 2 miles east of Goose Lake. A single motorcycle was found lying at the scene.
The operator, Nash, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Jo Daviess County officers now releasing the name of the man killed in a three-vehicle accident late Friday night.
They say James Jones, of Fulton, Illinois, died after trying to pass another car in a "no passing zone" and hitting a semi head on.
