Township police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver in a Wednesday night hit-and-run collision that killed an Edison man. Daniel T. Catalfamo, 29, died after being struck by a light-colored sedan, possibly a four-door Honda Civic. Police say the car was traveling south on Highway 18 near the Highland Street Extension when the driver struck Catalfamo and continued to travel.

Leonard Simpson Jr, 24, of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:30 a.m. crash. Despite wearing a helmet, Simpson suffered severe head trauma when he was thrown from the bike. The collision is under investigation, but no charges have been filed.

After striking the guardrail, the motorcycle continued into the woods. The motorcyclist was found be officer Brian DePree and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men were killed and another man was injured in a single-car accident on Route 22 in Scotch Plains on Saturday evening. When officers arrived, Donnelly said, they found a late model BMW on its side that had collided with a tree. It appears speed and wet road conditions were contributing factors.

A man was struck and killed early Friday as he tried to cross Route 17. Responding officers found the man lying between the center and right lanes, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Victim's name not yet released, no charges filed.

The accident happened on Route 322 near Rosie's Farm Market on Friday afternoon. The car was on fire, and rescuers reported extricating Pittman from the vehicle just before 2:40 p.m. Police suspected downed wires as a result of the vehicle striking a utility pole as the source of the fire. Once Pittman was freed from the vehicle he was airlifted to Cooper Univeristy Hospital.

The 35-year-old woman was taken by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center in critical condition and the 41-year-old woman was taken to the same place via ambulance. The third driver involved was uninjured.

D'Agostino's friend was pushing her wheelchair across Route 1 when they were both struck by a car. No charges have been filed in the accident, and it remains under investigation.
