A driver has died after being struck by a tractor trailer that was hauling rocks Monday evening in Denton County. The semi crossed into the westbound lanes and struck three other vehicles including another tractor trailer. The driver of a westbound Hyundai Elantra was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

One person is dead after a wrong-way crash in Irving. Investigators said the accident happened about 10:45 p.m. on Monday night. According to witnesses, the driver who was killed in the crash, entered the southbound lanes of Loop 12 going the wrong-way at Shady Grove and almost immediately collided with an 18-wheeler. The wrong way driver was killed in the crash. He has been identified as 25-year-old William Harrington of Irving. The driver of the big rig was not injured. Police said the impact of the crash was so intense the semi's steering axle broke and its fuel tank was ripped off.

A mother and daughter from Glendale were killed in a crash in Texas. It happened at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lufkin, which is between Dallas and Houston. According to the Lufkin Police Department, 19-year-old Katrina Holloway was driving northbound on South First Street and failed to stop at a red light and collided with the back of a semi tractor-trailer. Her mother, 52-year-old Susan Holloway was a passenger in the front seat. According to KTRE-TV, the car was pinned more than halfway under the trailer, and emergency personnel had to bring in a crane to lift the trailer off the Volvo.

A child is dead and several are injured in a four-vehicle accident, according to officials.

The Cy Fair Volunteer Fire Department said one of the cars involved in the accident caught fire on Highway 290 at Mason.

Texas Department of Public Safety investigators said it started when the driver of an 18 wheeler looked down at his cell phone while driving on Highway 290.

A man from North Richland Hills is dead after his car collided with a tractor-trailer around 4:04 a.m. on the on-ramp to the eastbound lanes of I-635E from Highway 114. Police say the man was traveling the wrong way when his Honda collided head-on with the semi. The driver has been identified as 22-year-old Jorge Rico. Rico’s time of death is listed on the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website as 4:15 a.m., with a cause of death being multiple blunt force injuries. Rico was the only person injured in the crash, which shut down the I-635E on-ramp for two hours.

A Baytown man died Friday in a head-on collision with a big rig in east Harris County, authorities said.

The injured semi truck driver told Baytown Police Department that he was pulling out of the Chevron Chemical plant about 10 p.m. when he saw a pickup truck coming at him in the wrong direction. The two collided head-on in the 9500 block of Interstate 10.

Police identified the pickup driver, who was killed, as Ryan Dunlop, 25.

The inbound North Freeway lanes reopened early Wednesday morning after an accident involving an 18-wheeler and an SUV.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on the North Freeway near Tidwell.

The two vehicles collided causing the semi to block three of the four lanes.

Houston police closed all of the freeway lanes while crews worked to remove the 18-wheeler.

Officials say one person in the SUV was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

A crash between an SUV and an 18-wheeler on Southeast Loop 410 Monday night caused the tractor-trailer to roll off an overpass, landing overturned on the ground below, fire officials said.

The two vehicles caught fire, but both drivers were able to escape on their own. They were taken to local hospitals and are expected to recover, officials said.

The accident happened around 7:35 p.m. Monday on northbound Loop 410 at East Southcross Boulevard. Northbound lanes were initially shut down, and traffic in both directions was expected to be held up for several hours.

A crash involving a car and an 18-wheeler shut down Interstate-35E in Carrollton on Tuesday morning, creating a major headache for commuters trying to get to work.

The crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway, near the intersection of Whitlock Parkway. Officials with the Carrollton Police Department explained that the big rig clipped the back end of the car and then flipped, spilling its load of oil drilling pipes onto the freeway and the service road.

A man, 20, was airlifted to University Hospital after a crash that shut down the eastbound lanes of Loop 1604 on Monday before 11:30 a.m.

The man was driving a black 2006 Jaguar onto U.S. 281 Northbound from the Gold Canyon access road, according to police. He was trying to pass a tractor-trailer driven by a 26-year-old man, according to police.
