One of the drivers died at the scene, and the driver and passenger in the other car were taken to the hospital with major injuries. Police are investigating to see if alcohol was a factor.

One of the passengers in the van, Anna Stivala, died at the scene, while the driver, Joseph Stivala, was transported to hospital but died shortly thereafter. Five people on the bus were taken to the hospital, though all had injuries which were considered non-life threatening.

The stolen SUV the suspect was driving crashed about 6 a.m. at California and Battery streets in downtown San Francisco's Financial District. Morning traffic was severly disrupted as police investigated the accident.

Samprath was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The driver who hit him stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

After the plane hit the power lines and crashed into a vineyard, its passengers were both transported to a local hospital. One of them, an 80-year-old man, suffered injuries including to one leg.

A 19-year-old woman who died early Sunday morning in a crash on Highway 1 near Half Moon Bay has been identified as Hayward resident Karina Benavides. Benavides was driving a 1991 Honda Accord north on the highway, just south of Tunitas Creek Road around 5 a.m. when the car left the road. The Honda then hit a traffic sign, rolled several times, and the impact of the crash ejected the driver, who died at the scene.

The driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a female pedestrian in the vicinity of the Stockton Tunnel in San Francisco's Chinatown district this morning has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter.The cause of the collision remains under investigation and the identities of the victim and the driver have not been released.

The incident started in the 1300 block of Hayes Street when a DPT officer was issuing a traffic citation to Mounsombath’s vehicle, Officer Albie Esparza said. The officer jumped on the hood of the car to avoid being run over and held on to it as Mounsombath fled.
