A slew of accidents added to motorists' difficulties Tuesday during a morning commute in bitterly cold temperatures.

In the Cleveland area, multiple accidents affected traffic near the Innerbelt. Around 8:45 a.m. on the Innerbelt South West after I-77, a vehicle hit a median wall and blocked the left lane.

Around 7:45 a.m., an accident on I-90 East also blocked the right shoulder before the Innerbelt North ramp.

In Brooklyn around 9 a.m., multiple cars spun out on I-480 West between Ridge and Tiedeman roads.

A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after being ejected from his car during a serious crash on Marks Road Friday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The Strongsville resident sustained serious injuries after his 1987 Ford Mustang collided head-on with a 2005 Ford F-150 about 8:20 a.m., according to the OHSP's Medina Post. An ambulance took the man to Southwest General Health Center. A Metro Life Flight helicopter then flew him to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he is listed in critical condition.

Oberlin Police and fire responded to an accident involving two school buses at approximately 12:04 p.m. Thursday. Students from Lorain County JVS were being transported back to school from a field trip when the accident occurred. 69 people were on the bus, mostly students. One school bus rear-ended the other bus, causing the accident. The accident happened in front of the Oberlin fire station, making it easy for fire crews to respond.

Madison Police report that one man died and a baby was taken to the hospital after a one-car crash at S. Ridge Road and Townline Road. The crash happened just after 3 p.m. A 19-year-old man was ejected from the car and found dead at the scene, police said. The 1-year-old was taken to Hillcrest Hospital, then flown to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

One person is dead and another is seriously injured after their vehicle crashed into a tree early Friday morning.

It happened along East 290th Street in Wickliffe.

According to police, the driver Timothy Roper, age 40, was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The passenger Dominick Gromek Jr. 35 was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, but police said speed was a factor.

An Avon Lake man has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault after he fled the scene of an accident and seriously injured a woman who was driving to work, police said. Alexander Potoczak, 22, was driving an Audi on Bradley Road in Westlake when he hit another car around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and fled the scene, police said. "He took off, struck another car and caused some serious injury to the other driver," said Capt. Guy Turner, public information officer for the Westlake police department.

Two Akron police officers were injured in a head-on crash at 5th Avenue and South Arlington Street around 9 p.m. Thursday night. According to police, the officers were southbound on South Arlington Street when a woman driving a Buick turned into their path, and they hit head-on. The two officers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the woman appeared to be intoxicated and suffered minor injures in the crash. According to police the officers were treated and released from the hospital around 3 a.m.

Police say a car with two occupants crashed into a house on East 139th Street on Wednesday.

Police in a statement said the car slammed into the home on the 5700 block of East 139th Street around 1:45 a.m.

Police said the sedan was heading east on York Boulevard when the driver lost control and crashed into the residence. Police said speed was a factor in the incident.

The driver and the passenger were transported to a local hospital. Their condition is unclear.

A woman was killed Saturday morning following a crash with a commercial vehicle in Osnaburg Township, Stark County.

The wreck happened around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 44 and Orchardview Drive S.E., according to Ohio State Highway Troopers.

Troopers said Michael Sudano Jr., 57, of Niles, Ohio, was driving his commercial truck northbound on S.R. 44 when he turned left into the path of a Kia Rio car, which was traveling southbound on S.R. 44.

A woman died after a car crash in Wayne County Thursday. Mary K. Durbin Aken, 60, of New Philedelphia, was driving east on U.S. 250 west of County Road 44 and lost control, sliding sideways into the path of an oncoming car, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. The oncoming car had a snow plow on the front, which entered Durbin Aken's car and struck her. Durbin Aken was pronounced dead on the scene. The other driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
