Two local teens die in late night crash

Authorities say Hershell Lee Hodge, 18, of Semmes and Ashlyn Nicole Walden, 18, of Tillman's Corner were both killed just before 11 p.m. Monday night when the 1995 Corvette they were riding in hit a tree.

Both families are making funeral arraignments. Belcher has set up an account at PNC Bank,  and gofundme for donations to help with  burial costs for her granddaughter.

Alabama teens killed in fatal car crash shared a love for cars

Speed is the cause of most crashes involving young drivers, if you're running late speeding is not going to help much - even going 20 or 30mph over the speed limit is only going to save a minute or so, it's just not worth the risk to yourself or others on the road.  Seatbelts give you a 50% better chance of surviving a crash, always make sure everyone in a vehicle is belted in - a person flying around the inside of a vehicle can kill other occupants, please be safe and live long!
