Two children killed in six-vehicle crash on I-55 in Logan County
Illinois State Police reported that a tractor-trailer driven by Taven A. Webster, 24, of Purcell, Missouri, started the chain-reaction crash when his truck struck the rear of a van driven by David M. Roock, 40, of Chicago.

Two children who were riding in the van were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released their identities. A third child inside the van was transported in critical condition to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Bloomington, Ill.
Two other people were airlifted to nearby hospitals. Authorities did not release the ages or genders of those people.
