Four people killed Sunday when car hits semi on side of I-75

A 37-year-old man driving a 2016 Chrysler south on I-75 went off the road and onto the right shoulder, according to an FHP press release. The Chrysler hit the rear of a disabled semi that was parked on the shoulder.

The car's driver was killed. Three passengers — a 35-year-old woman, a 16-year-old girl and a female whose age was not given — were also killed.

Nathan Russell, 37, was driving south on I-75 shortly before 8:45 a.m. when his Chrysler 200 veered off the highway and struck the back of a disabled tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder.

Russell, his wife, Lynda Russell, 35, and two of their children, LaNyah Russell, 15, and Natayah Russell, 10, died in the crash. A fourth passenger, Nathan Russell Jr., 10, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in critical condition.

I believe that Natayah Russell went to a school called renaissance charter school at coral springs. She went to the high- achieving class in 4th grade.

LaNyah went to Pompano Beach High she was a great student and so sweet. It's terrible to see someone go so soon. RIP LaNyah along with the rest of the Russell family
