2 Killed, 2 Injured In Logan County Crash
Two people died and two others were injured in a crash in Logan County Friday night.
The crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of County Road 31 and County Road 43.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a northbound vehicle on County Road 3, a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, failed to stop at a stop sign, and was struck by a 2006 GMC Envoy that was traveling westbound on County Road 43.
Marco A. Acosta, 26, of Larue, was driving the Elantra. Acosta and his passenger, 25-year-old Norman James Laferriere, of West Mansfield, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said that Acosta was wearing his seat belt however, Laferriere was not.
Roger D. Woods, 28, of Degraff, an occupant of the other vehicle,was taken by helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he is listed in fair condition.
A second occupant, 31-year-old Christina Woods, also of Degraff, was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital, where she was treated and later released.
Three other occupants from the vehicle were treated and released at the scene.
According to deputies, all the occupants of the Envoy were wearing seatbelts or were restrained in child seats.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
