Kendrick Jamarkis Brockman, 25, killed, after his car crashes into several trees on Main Street in downtown Greenville.

A 25-year-old man is dead after an accident near downtown Greenville, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

Coroner Parks Evans said Kendrick Jamarkis Brockman died after he lost control of his Nissan Altima in the 1500 block of Main Street and hit several trees in the median.

The accident happened at 12:35 a.m. Friday.

Evans said the vehicle crossed over the median and landed in the southbound lane.

Brockman died at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head, Evans said.

Evans said Brockman was not wearing a seat belt.

Both directions of North Main Street were taped off, and emergency vehicles were blocking traffic for more than four hours.
