Woman killed, man seriously injured, taken to hospital, after their car leaves the roadway on the North Freeway in Houston, and crashes into a tree.

One woman was killed in a crash in north Harris County early Saturday morning.

It happened around 2 am on the North Freeway near Dominion Park.

Deputies say a woman was driving with a man in the passenger seat when she lost control and slammed into a tree. They were both trapped inside.

She died at the scene. Her passenger was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The crash is under investigation.
