A preliminary investigation revealed that Strausbaugh had been driving his motorcycle, a 2004 Harley Davidson MC, north on Susquehanna Trail when he struck the rear of a 2000 Nissan sedan ahead of him as the Nissan slowed to make a turn, police said.
Northern York County Regional police were still investigating the circumstances of a fatal motorcycle crash in Manchester Township reported earlier this week.
Police were called to the intersection of Susquehanna Trail and Locust Lane at 6:51 p.m. Sunday where they found 57-year-old Gary Strausbaugh Jr., of York Haven, suffering for serious injuries after being thrown from his motorcycle, according to a department press release. Strausbaugh was rushed to the York Hospital where he was pronounced dead a few days later, at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Strausbaugh was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the release states.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Strausbaugh had been driving his a 2004 Harley Davidson MC north on Susquehanna Trail when he struck the rear of a 2000 Nissan sedan ahead of him as the Nissan slowed to make a turn, police said.
The operator and passengers in the Nissan, all of whom were juveniles, were not injured and were not being identified by police.
The investigation into the crash remained ongoing as of Wednesday afternoon and police were still asking any witnesses to the crash to contact the department at 717-292-3647. Tips can also be submitted to the department's website.
