Woman struck by Black Friday shopper in rush to snag parking spot

Need another reason to stay home next year on Black Friday? Now you can add "avoiding pedestrian collisions with crazed shoppers who are more interested in a cheap flatscreen TV than human life."  Yesterday in Knoxville, Tennessee, Angel Duncan was walking in the parking lot of the Walmart on Chapman Highway when a pickup driver in the wrong lane clipped her as he rushed to make it into a prime parking spot. Duncan was briefly hospitalized with minor injuries before being released to recuperate at home with lots of bumps and bruises, but the experience has left a bad taste in her mouth over the Black Friday madness, according to WVLT Knoxville: [Duncan] says if she had been walking just a few more inches over, it might have been a different story. "To think, I could have been gone, over a sale, is just insane. I can't comprehend it. It makes me angry," she says. Her husband Michael says it really puts life into perspective. "Boom, just that quick, I almost lost it today. I almost lost my wife," he says. Duncan says it should be a time to give thanks and spend with family, not a time for pushing and fighting people at department stores. "People just need to pay more attention to people around them, and realize that TV is still gonna be there two minutes from now," she says.
