A 72-year-old driver trying to avoid a crash in bad weather has died after his car collided with a charter bus on U.S. 131 in western Michigan. The victim was identified as David Yettaw of Portage, near Kalamazoo. State police say there were no injuries among the two dozen people aboard the bus.

A 70-year-old woman died after a bus collided with a semi-truck on US-131 Monday, and two others were hospitalized. It happened around 10:15 a.m. Monday on US-131 near the KL Avenue overpass in Oshtemo Township, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office.

Michigan State Police troopers responded to multiple wrecks on US-131 near Rockford on Tuesday. The slideoffs and wrecks occurred in the northbound lanes just north of 10 Mile Road in Algoma Township. At least six cars went into the ditch, according to Michigan State Police.
