The Pierce County Detention and Corrections Center is a medium / maximum custody facility that consists of two facilities, the new jail and the main jail, confining over 1,300 inmates.

The Kittitas County Corrections Center (KCCC) was built in the 1980's to house about 45 inmates. In 2012 the Annex was completed which significantly increased bed space and brought the total capacity to 229. It currently houses about 110 inmates.

They are provided with access to programs and training that will help to rehabilitate them so that they’re ready to get their lives back on track when released. As a low security facility, Island County Jail has a lower staff to inmate ratio than medium or high security jails.
